Green Lighting and New Trends in the Spotlight at HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2010 (Spring Edition)

HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) will be staged again for four days from April 13, 2010, with over 240 exhibitors from seven countries and regions showing LED and green lighting, professional lighting, decorative lighting, lighting accessories & components, and more. The fair is a professional platform of negotiating business, tapping opportunities and exploring markets.

The Spring Edition made a highly successful debut in 2009, attracting 235 exhibitors from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the US.

One focus of the Spring Edition is green lighting. The LED zone will support the environmental policy of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region, meet the increasing demand for LED lighting, and enhance the awareness of high-efficiency, energy-saving, green lighting.

Speaking at the 2009 event, Julian Kim, Sales Director of Mseedtech Co Ltd in Korea, said: "Our LED lighting products are in demand with the global trend of energy saving. So far, we have met 15 overseas buyers and I expect to conclude some deals once they get sales details. The fair is an opportunity to promote our brand to the world. We are impressed with HKTDC's professional service and its business matching service has helped our expansion."

Hong Kong is a central element in the lighting world, making the city a perfect location for this event. In 2008 Hong Kong exported a total of US$1.4 billion worth of lighting products. Buyer locations showing significant growth and strong potential include the emerging markets of India, Russia and Venezuela, plus Southeast Asian countries and regions.

Manoj Kumar, CEO of E Zone & Electronics Bazaar, Home Solutions Retail (India) Limited in India said: "Our group has 112 hypermarkets and more than 1,000 stores in India. I'm here to see the new lighting event, because there are big developments happening in the industry. The LED section of the fair is fabulous. Coming here has certainly been worthwhile."

Another two must-not-miss fairs taking place at the same time are HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and HKTDC International ICT Expo. During the three fairs, a set of seminars will provide insights into important related topics, encouraging industry professionals to learn about advanced technologies and latest market information.
